Meet Our Founder

Kristi Noory

Lustora Founder, Rock Star, Mineral Mama

Kristi Noory is in a long-term relationship with rocks, gems, and minerals. She moved to St. Louis at the age of five, where her family had a landscaped garden which was filled with beautiful rocks. Kristi would sit on the front porch hammering these rocks, hunting for gems and all things sparkly for hours on end. Later in school, her class had a weeklong outdoor project where they mined for minerals during science class. A lifelong interest was born! She grew to love jewelry through the heirloom pieces that her grandmother would share with her, learning the stories behind each piece as she slipped rings and bracelets on her little hands. Her fondness for glitzy accessories came in handy when she needed to dress up her school uniform. She was even voted “Best Dressed” by her classmates (it’s odd that they would have that category considering the uniform situation, right?)!

In the early 2000s, Kristi’s first jewelry company made a big splash. She was asked to create pieces for the swag bags given to Emmy Award attendees and to be a featured brand on QVC, but since she’s just a one woman business, Kristi wasn’t sure she could meet the demand and had to turn them down (it was a real heartbreaker). She closed her business in 2013, after over a decade of adorning women with her creations, when she found love in another country (it was Canada) and found it too difficult to run a US business from afar.

In her next era, Kristi did it all. She modeled for magazines and runways and even practiced real estate! All the while, she stayed dedicated to her jewelry-making craft, learned a lot about the business side of things, prepared for her big jewelry comeback, and reemerged, ready to rock with Lustora!
